Description
Burgas Bay is the largest bay of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, located between Cape Emine to the north and Cape Maslen nos to the south. It is 44 km at its widest and 25 m at its deepest. Larger cities and towns in the region include the major port of Burgas, Pomorie, Sozopol and Nesebar. Its northern coast is lower and has two big peninsulas, at Nesebar and Pomorie; the southern part has many little inlets and headlands, as well as several small islands (St. Ivan and St. Peter, St. Anastasia, St. Thomas). The Burgas Lakes are located in the wetlands to the west.
