The targeted combination of systematic expert surveys with broad-based observations by laypeople enables a scientifically sound, cost-effective and thus long-term study of the butterfly population in Jamtal, Tyrol. Thus, the common moth also makes an important contribution to biodiversity monitoring in the Alpine region. In addition to scientific observations, educational and public relations work is a very important part of the butterfly moitoring. With regular training and further education offers, volunteers and other interested parties can improve their knowledge and their knowledge of species.
