Abstract
A geodetic control network is a network, often of triangles, which are measured exactly by techniques of terrestrial surveying or by satellite geodesy. A geodetic control network consists of stable, identifiable points with published datum values derived from observations that tie the points together. The Regional Geodetic Network realized in 2006 consists of: 365 new vertices, materialized in accordance with the Technical Specifications "Densification of the IGM95 IntesaGIS Network”; Support network consisting of 2641 photo vertices, most of which coincide with the fiduciary points of the Land Registry.
The Regional Geodetic Network together with the GNSS-Puglia permanent station network are the basis of the regional positioning service that allows the creation of cartographic products (Cartographic-thematic maps, orthophoto, etc) with a high level of quality and precision.

Method Description
The main characteristics of the rafforzation network are as follows:

? contains all IGM95 vertices falling in Puglia (121 vertices, 63 of the 700 series, 6 of the 800 series, 52 of the 900 series)

? the newly established vertices have been positioned at a density such that the average distance between the bases is 7 km and the maximum distance between them is never more than 9 km (except in the cases mentioned above): there is Therefore the presence of a point every 50 sq. Km

? consists of connected polygons each having a maximum of 6 sides, with a maximum perimeter of 50 km
Where it was possible to insert into the hexagonal grids that had a high surface an additional peak of the densification

? Each IGM95 converges to a minimum of 3 independent bases.

The photographic points of the support network coincide with the detail points of the primary grid of the fiducial points, except in cases where the latter did not allow the respect of the specifications, or be uniquely definable on stereoscopic pairs. They were determined by two link bases with as many vertices of framing and densification, and finally the coordinates were calculated in the reference system ETRF89-WGS84.

The total of 2641 points is divided as follows:

? 1979 points of detail coinciding with fiducial points of Land Register (of which 580 points reliably between 1 and 12)

? 662 photographic support points.

Points were measured globally as follows:

? 87 points with traditional instrumentation

? 1295 points with GPS instrumentation in RTK mode

? 1259 points with GPS instrumentation in static-fast mode.
