Abstract
The dataset contains vegetation cover from 1x1 64 permanent plots along an altitudinal gradient (1722-1978 m a.s.l.) established in four summits in the northen Apennines. The plots are arranged at the four cardinal directions of each summit. The samples are collected every 5/7 years. The data are collected according to the GLORIA Multi-Summit Approach.

Method Description
The recording methods are described in the fourth chapter form GLORIA field manual (downloadable at this link - https://www.gloria.ac.at/methods/manual), performed in each GLORIA target region. Data yielded by these required procedures build the fundamental globally comparative dataset on vascular plant patterns and soil temperature. The recording methods for the different plot types are described in detail along WORK STEPS H - V ,
continuing the WORK STEPS of the plot setup in the chapter 3.
Instrumentation
1x1m quadrat with a 10x10cm gridframe built in.
